coats on coats on coats….and kittens?

what editors, stylists, and models wear to the shows are just as important as the shows themselves. tommy ton’s blog for style.com is always my favorite, so i wanna post some of the best photos he’s snapped thus far.

one big thing i noticed…first off, more than once did i see the same kitten sweater on a couple ladies. cats taking over youtube and fashion week?

annnnd i am totally obsessed with all the fur layered over coats layered over jackets. wearing just one outerwear is so last decade.

also, please note the “gorilla arms” that were so popular on runways a couple seasons back, but no one’s really worn them until now. i like it.

asians taking over NYFW

thus far, there’s already been some pretty spectacular shows (and i can’t wait until images from dvf are uploaded), but i’m gonna be honest, the asian boys took my heart. jason wu, alexander wang, and prabal gurung showed some of their strongest collections yet.

Wu-i wish some hollywood director would create a chinese movie and have the costume designer use every single piece from this collection. i loved the new toughness that’s usually absent from wu’s past pretty, sophisticated shows

prabal- what can i say….i’m anticipating this collection on the red carpet, especially on rooney mara, and i can def see tilda swinton in the suits and zoe seldana in the black gown.

a wang:aside from the unexpected, but amazing, line up with ex-victoria secret models, gisele and karolina kurkova, i absolutely died for the coats with its impeccable details AGAIN. and lacquered chunky sweaters? only a wang <3

Let’s talk NYFW

yea, valentine’s around the corner, but honestly, all i can think about during february is FASHION WEEK.

new york fashion week kicked off yesterday and i wish wish wish i was there not to just see the up and coming designers (because let’s be honest, the most anticipated ones show near the middle to end) but to camp out in front of the lincoln center and stalk hell out of my two favorite annas.

critic’s choice + yellow

        

I probably post way too much about elle fanning (i can’t help it, i love love loooove her), but her and elizabeth olsen killed it at the critic’s choice awards. i’m so beyond obsessed with the looks, and i’m soooo happy more people are wearing yellow these days on the red carpet. teen/child stars scare me, but i absolutely adore these two.

elizabeth in pucci - one of my favorite designers, but always worn too sexy by voluptuous stars. elizabeth knocked it out of the park.

elle in rodarte - i really loved the spring 2012 collection by rodarte with van gogh, whom i absolutely love and admire, inspired prints, but, i guess the prints can be taken too casually so the collection hasn’t appeared on the red carpet much. i’m so glad elle wore this, and wore it so damn well.
