“a versace moment”

so behind fashion week (darn these exams and papers!) but i just had to post the recent versace collection which was pretty major. what with the versace/h&m collaboration coming out in november, lady gaga promising to wear vintage versace for 2 months, the fashion house is definitely making its mark as one of 2011’s top fashion stories.

the spring 2012 collection was everything from studs (reminiscent of the valentino fall 2012 accessories) to pastels, amazing shoes, and a little bit of under the sea inspiration. seriously, if the little mermaid was real, ariel would definitely be wearing the white versace gown anchored by encrusted starfish at her wedding with prince what’s-his name.

SS’12 RTW

so here’s a compilation of some of my favorite collections as of yesterday (goodness, it takes freaking forever to flip through each collection). you know a collection’s cohesive with a point of view when you screenshot a million pics and then still can group them together and figure out the designers :)

so far, i’m seeing a trend for mesh (sporty-chic) and embellishments..hmmm

image

alexander wang: center blue jacket is insane. sports wear never looked so damn good

image

band of outsiders: boy and girl. loving the top structure of the navy dress and the edginess of the leather bandeau

image

carolina herrera: sometimes her collections can get a little…mature, but she played with mesh and sequins and got something quite modern :)

image

dkny: in the words of rachel zoe, the navy coat is. bananas.

image

dvf: she’s always about prints, which i love, but these two muted pieces stood out to me. the jumper is pretty fantastic

image

jason wu: a little more edgy this season, i like it. coveting neon skirts and sheer knits

imageimage

jenny packham: not sure i’ve ever heard/seen this designer before but i’m a sucker for girly things and that’s exactly what her whole collection was. the beading on the green dresses, bottom of the white dress, and the tan dress is ahhh-mazing

image

prabal gurung: when is a lot too much? who cares, loved prabal’s eccentric collection with sheers, cut outs, beading, colors, etc…i am dying dying dying for the 2nd to last dress which i need to post a bigger pic of

imageimageimage

rag&bone: favorite collection thus far. i’m always a fan of the “piled on look” which they do so freaking well, the neon sporty chic is sooooo freaking great. def a collection that made me really look at each individual piece on the modelsimage
zac posen: zac is back. his gowns always blow my mind

oscar is so freaking cute

oscarprgirl:

you just do not see this every day. Oscar serenades Sarah Jessica Parker. @FNOnyc

peter som SS’12
love the subtle sexiness and bold color of the these two pieces; the blonde piece in the asian model’s hair is kinda fab

Here Are All 20 Polaroids of Harry Potter’s Rupert Grint and Tom Felton Playing in a Castle in Band of Outsiders’ Fall Collection

I love this.

Scott Sternberg has a gift for getting only the most awesome people to wear is clothes and his latest campaign (we’ll call it a campaign, but it’s really just a bunch of scanned polaroids on the internet) is no exception. Each season, to make us want his clothes even more, he shoots polaroids of celebrities wearing them, usually around L.A. James Marsden, Dave Franco, Donald Glover, Jason Schwartzman and Andrew Garfield (swoon @ all of them) have all taken a turn and, most recently, Kirsten Dunst modeled Sternberg’s boy. and girl. spring collections. For fall 2011, he chose Harry Potter’s Rubert Grint and Tom Felton (a.k.a. Ron Weasley and Draco Malfoy) as his stars. He told Style.com,

I love those films and the characters so much. They’re full of imagination and endless ideas. With the last film coming out this summer, it felt like a cool opportunity to capture this moment in these two actors’ lives, and give them a chance to poke a little fun at the whole thing too.

Sternberg shot the campaign at the Magic Castle in L.A. A couple of the polaroids popped up yesterday, and here are all the rest, via the BOO blog. Click through to see Ron and Draco playing with magic cards and imitating funny paintings and stuff!
